The Summer Terrace Restaurants for the Central Square’s 2023 summer season have been selected
Eight restaurants out of fifteen applicants were selected for the Central Square’s 2023 Kesäkeidas – Summer Terrace Restaurants. This summer’s selection includes a few familiar names from last year as well as some completely new options. The Central Square’s Summer Terrace Restaurants area, located between Tampere Theatre and the City Hall, will be open between 10 May and 13 August 2023 and will accommodate up to 500 customers.
The operators of next summer’s Summer Terrace Restaurants in Tampere are Maranga, Royal Bubble Waffle, Tampere Taproom X Secret Sauceity Pizza, Pella’s Cafe, Cafe & Bar Raina, Kumma Bar & Street Kitchen, Real BBQ & Smokehouse and Bar, and Ravintola Ukkometso. Those who visited last summer’s Summer Terrace Restaurants will remember Maranga, Pella’s Cafe and Ukkometso for their great dining options last year.
According to Deputy Mayor Pekka Salmi, who chaired the selection panel, the panellists paid particular attention to the versatility and quality of the season’s roster of restaurants.
– Our goal was to ensure that the food and beverages available at the Summer Terrace Restaurants could offer something to every customer group while also highlighting Tampere’s food and restaurant culture. We also wanted to provide a diverse selection of options to those who follow special diets, notes Pekka Salmi.
The restaurants applying for a rental spot were asked to present an interesting restaurant concept and selection of food and drinks for the 2023 Summer Terrace Restaurants season. The restaurants were also required to have a fixed location in Tampere. The application period was open from 23 January to 5 February 2023.
